North Star Academy is a Blue Ribbon public charter school serving the students of Newark, New Jersey. Our students are selected by random public lottery. North Star families reflect the diversity of Newark and have chosen to provide their children with a high quality, college-preparatory education. North Star currently serves approximately 3,500 students in ten schools across Newark. Our goal is to serve 5,000 students by 2020, all of whom will succeed in college and change history.
About ONE Newark Enrolls
ONE Newark Enrolls is a system of school choice where all families can access great schools for their children, regardless of the school’s status as district or charter. The system is available to any Newark family wishing to enroll their child in a new school for the upcoming year. Students may rank up to eight school choices – both district and charter – on a single application. They will then receive a single offer to attend the best possible school given their selections.
How to Apply
The ONE Newark Enrolls application will become available in January 2015. Families will have just 4 weeks to submit their application before the window closes. Eligibility
North Star Academy is open to all residents of Newark, New Jersey. Children entering Kindergarten must turn five on or before October 1 of their enrollment year.
